About Us
Research Center for Climate Change (RCCC), Universitas Negeri Padang, in West Sumatra, Indonesia, is a dedicated research unit operating under the Institute for Research and Community Service. Officially established on November 29, 2021, pursuant to Rector’s Decree No. 757/UN35/KP/2021, the center reflects the commitment and active contribution of the academic community of Universitas Negeri Padang to the Paris Agreement and Indonesia’s national commitment to climate change mitigation and adaptation. Vision
To establish the Climate Change Research Center (RCCC) of Universitas Negeri Padang as a leading research center at the national and international levels.
Mission
- To provide education and learning on climate change at all levels of both formal and informal education.
- To conduct and develop innovative, climate change–focused research.
- To organize training and community service programs related to climate change.
- To serve as a leading center for climate change research in Indonesia.
Objectives
The main objective of establishing RCCC is to enhance the quality of internationally recognized research in the field of climate change. Other objectives include:
- To conduct studies and develop research related to climate change.
- To publish research findings as Universitas Negeri Padang’s contribution to the Paris Agreement.
- To introduce scientific breakthroughs on climate change and apply them to benefit society.
- To provide recommendations to stakeholders and relevant parties in making climate-related decisions.
- To take action and contribute to climate change mitigation efforts.
